I just created this forum as a non-political haven for members of PoliticalGroove or Rumbleville. Hence the name, Groovyville. This will not be a politics centred site. When I get around to configuring it, it will probably have one politics forum, and the rest will be for discussion of art, movies, video games, travel, or whatever we want. This is intended to be less depressing than the political sites.
I have the flu at the moment, so I won't be up to setting up the board tonight. I'll take some time to explore the features available and maybe work on a banner or something.

Poetrychic's the only other mod not here yet, lol. As soon as Kana let's everyone know about this new recreation site, I'm sure we'll fill up fast. With the games, the focus on art and music, etc., this should be a really fun and friendly place for everyone to get away from the tension of politics - particularly THIS political season.

I'd be quite content to have no more than 30 or 40 people. A real community feeling instead of all the misunderstandings and clashes of personality.
I sent PMs to a few other people on PG: Chrisbb, Comicsartist, and Malkavian. I also just fired one off to JeffinCO this very moment. You all can feel free to send invitations to people you would like to join. Later in the week, I'll probably post an announce thread at PG so we'll catch anyone we've missed.
On the other hand, just using invitations might not be a bad way to go. It would make it harder for the habitual flamers to find us. Let me know what you think, you all. I think we're all here because we want a forum with a bit less hostility and controversy. Keeping it invitation only for the time being might be the best way to keep it that way.

True. I don't want it to be a clique. Anyone is welcome here as long as they remain polite. Let's see what everyone else thinks. I don't expect us to have a large inflow of new users, like PG, so I could theoretically turn on moderation of new registrations when I announce the forum on the other sites. That way, at least anyone we'd forgotten somehow could come over and register, I'd recognise them and let them through.

Ah, I know what the problem is. I created a new user group for people with over 50 posts. Both you and Teri are in that group, but I forgot to add that group to the permissions for the games. I'll fix it.

You "Groovy Members" should be able to play the games now. In the settings, I saw that I could also create tournaments. That might be something we could try out down the line.
